At the depot
Cotteswold glass, stacked by hand. Before the rest of London is up
Glass bottles on the step before 7am, four mornings a week — Tue & Fri are the slots opening now
I'm Greg. North London local, fifteen years. One milk float, over 300 doorsteps across Finchley, Muswell Hill, Bounds Green, Alexandra Palace and Golders Green — by hand, by email
Glass and organic from Cotteswold Dairy in Tewkesbury; basic poly from Freshways' London depot. If anything's running late, I email before the morning starts
Cold milk on the step before the kettle's on. The same glass bottle goes back to Cotteswold Dairy, gets washed, sterilised and refilled — 30 times before it's recycled
Fill the short form below, or email [email protected] with your address and a rough first order
Pick your mornings — Tue & Fri are the slots opening now. Mon and Thu are almost fully booked but I can sometimes squeeze a doorstep in — ask by email. Add, swap or skip the night before
Your order on the step before 7am. One invoice on the 1st of each month, paid by BACS
Five frames from a working morning
Cotteswold glass, stacked by hand. Before the rest of London is up
Engine on, round-book up. Ally Pally still in silhouette
Full in. Empties out. Around thirty trips before recycling
Two minutes from float to door. No app. No card. No slot
Reply to a customer, swap an order, add a loaf. One person, between drops
Plus kosher milk, Lactofree, Taboon pita, Just Baked patisserie, smoked salmon — on request, day's notice. Always open to adding more: tell me what you'd like and once a few of you ask, it goes on the float. See the full price list ↓
No minimum or maximum. Add, skip or swap by email the night before. Something not listed? Ask — the round grows around you
soya, coconut, rice, hazelnut, macadamia, pistachio — and more, in different brands and blends, on request
kefir, soured cream, crème fraîche — on request
cottage cheese, blue stilton, mozzarella, halloumi, paneer, feta — on request
gluten-free, yeast-free, sourdough, artisan pitta, challah, bagels, croissants — on request
Want something else — kefir or kefir yoghurt, a specific brand of plant milk, a different cheese, smoked salmon, bagels, crumpets, or something I haven't even thought of? The depot might not stock it, which is why most milkmen don't carry it. I'm happy to work it out with you — I do special arrangements directly with local bakeries, a London salmon smokery and other suppliers to bring you what you actually want. Drop a note in your sign-up form, or email me, and we'll sort it together
From Alexandra Palace to Hampstead Garden Suburb, the float passes within a quarter-mile of your door — at least four times a week. Named streets include Fortis Green Road, Muswell Hill Broadway, Aylmer Road, Bridge Lane and the Suburb
On the edge of one of these? Email [email protected] with your street and I'll check
Tell me where, when and roughly what — I reply by email within a day, and you'll be on the step the next round morning
No card, no contract, no app — pause or stop any time with one email
Not a standard delivery?
If anything above doesn't quite fit — you're a business, school, nursery or other organisation; you live in a block of flats and need to arrange access with the porter or buzzer; your postcode isn't on the list above but you're nearby; or you want a custom set-up I haven't covered — email me and we'll sort it together. I reply the same day
[email protected] →Five postcodes: N3 Finchley, N10 Muswell Hill, N11 Bounds Green, N22 Alexandra Palace and NW11 Golders Green / Hampstead Garden Suburb. On the edge? Email your street and I'll check
A weekly doorstep milk delivery from MI:LK am works out roughly the same as any other North London milkman — glass pint £1.15, eggs from £2.50, bread £1.90, plus a flat £1/week for delivery, billed monthly by BACS. The difference is who's bringing it: one local milkman, no app, no chatbot. I know the round because I drive it myself, and I'll sort anything that goes wrong by email the same day
Email me with at least 24 hours' notice for any cancellation or change to your standing order — that gives me time to update the round before the float loads. No contract, no minimum, no notice period beyond the day before. One morning, a fortnight, half-term, summer — same one-line email
Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri — every delivery is on the step before 7am. No deliveries Wed, Sat, Sun. Tue & Fri are the slots opening now; Mon & Thu are almost fully booked and offered one-to-one by email depending on your street. Float rolls out before half-four; first doorsteps done by six
Yes. Pint milk comes in glass, reused around thirty trips before recycling. Leave empties on the step — I collect them next round. Two-litre milk in poly when you need volume
One invoice by email on the 1st of each month, paid by BACS. No card on file, no auto-renew, no app to install
